THE ROLE

You will be working in our Crisping House producing our award winning crisps. You will work on the production line, monitoring the quality control of products, packing and loading product for distribution. Working as part of a team, you will be applying practical skills, working quickly, accurately and with excellent attention to detail with full concentration at all times.

KEY AREAS OF THE ROLE

  • Adhering to HACCP and Health and safety practices at all times.
  • Measuring, grading and feeding batches of raw materials into production machinery.
  • Starting, operating, tending, stopping, and cleaning machines as well as assembling the finished product for storage.
  • Loading and unloading items from machines, boxes, production lines, pallets etc.
  • Rejecting out-of-specification product.
  • Packing finished stock into boxes and labelling accordingly.
  • Ensuring conformance to specifications.
  • Complete product checks and record data.
  • Reporting equipment faults / product issues to the Production Manager / Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Liaising and assisting the Warehouse & Dispatch Operatives in relation to the storing of goods and raw materials in the factory and / or warehouse.
  • Using lifting equipment, pallet trucks and forklift trucks.

Essential Requirements

  • Flexibility to work different shifts including weekends and bank holidays as the business requires.
  • Manual work experience.

Own transport is essential, as there is no public transport available in the area.

  • Good team work skills.
  • Fork lift experience essential.
  • Fluent English.
  • Excellent work ethic.

Cost Accountant and Financial Analyst

Keogh’s Crisps are searching for an experienced Cost Accountant & Financial Analyst to join our progressive Irish Business.  This role will give you the opportunity to be innovative, forward thinking and make a real difference.

Working closely with the Financial Controller, this is an all-encompassing finance role where you will be given excellent exposure to all aspects of the Business. The ideal candidate will proactively seek to drive better systems, identify cost wastage and solve it and you will understand the commercial implications as regards product portfolio management. You will have experience of partnering with stakeholders in terms of scoping out efficiencies, cost reductions, forecasting and budgeting.

Key responsibilities

  1. Improve financial status by analysing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends and recommending actions.
  2. Determine cost of operations by following sales analysis, forecasts and ensuring action plans are in place for optimisation of long/short term plans.
  3. Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
  4. Investigate inventory counting variances and resolve issues in collaboration with the relevant departments.
  5. Work with the quality team to manage and dispose of damaged or obsolete inventory while constantly seeking solutions to reduce future damage.
  6. Update standard costs in the bill of materials.
  7. Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies with variance analysis and reporting to management.
  8. Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close.
  9. Prepare (monthly, quarterly and annual) cost forecasts.
  10. Identify opportunities to deliver cost reductions and improve profitability.
  11. Analyse and report on profit margins by product.
  12. Trend reporting on all relevant KPIs.
  13. Analysis of capex budgeting requests to ensure capital allocation is robust.
  14. Assisting in month-end and year-end closing.
  15. Superuser and ERP system champion with the ongoing development and implementation of systems throughout the business.

 

Our Ideal Candidate:

  1. Fully qualified with an ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA certification.
  2. Minimum of 3 year+ PQE required with experience working in a manufacturing company preferred.
  3. Expertise in MS Office Suite, including advanced Excel and related financial systems; ERP experience preferred.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including consultative and relationship management skills.
  5. Proven problem-solving, critical thinking, and investigative skills.
  6. Good understanding of manufacturing and cost accounting processes.
  7. Ability to influence and engage at all levels.
  8. Highly motivated with continuous improvement bias.
  9. A process driven individual who works well under pressure and is not afraid to push back on issues where necessary.
  10. Motivated, hardworking individual who can advocate process improvement to increase efficiency.

 

Important Requirements:

  • Must hold a full valid driving licence and have access to own vehicle.
  • As member of a rapidly growing business, all members of the Finance Team must demonstrate a passion and ability to grow and develop with the requirements of the role.
